The May Bank Holiday Monday, I went for a walk around the grounds of Liss Ard with my husband and baby girl. I grew up in Skibbereen and know Liss Ard well but sometimes you take what is on your door step for granted and showing Kevin around the grounds for the first time he was seriously impressed especially with the Sky Gardens. It is such a peaceful place and with the most beautiful gardens and pathways.
So , I was delighted to read in the Southern Star newspaper to day that first Masters Programme in Organic Horticulture in Europe, has received the green light and will commence this September.
The MSc course, which will be accredited by University College Cork, will take place at Liss Ard Estate this is a real coup for Skibbereen and will benefit the whole community. Alot of work went into bringing this to fruition especially by the Carbery Enterprise Group.
