An annual self-assessed Local Property Tax (LPT) charged on the market value of all residential properties in the republic of Ireland will come into effect from 1 July 2013. It will be administered by Revenue and a half-year charge will apply in 2013. All property owners within the State of Ireland are liable for this charge and we would advise all vendors especially those not currently residing in the country, to remember to register before the following deadlines:
7 May 2013: Due date for filing paper LPT returns
28 May 2013: Due date for filing LPT returns electronically.
